Alan Fisher is a journalist, currently working as the London correspondent for
Al Jazeera International. He was born and raised in
Motherwell and studied at journalism at at
Napier College in Edinburgh. He joined
Moray Firth Radio in Inverness and then
NorthSound Radio in Aberdeen. He moved to television, initially
Grampian Television and then
Scottish Television as a reporter on
Scotland Today. He joined
GMTV as Ireland correspondent setting up their bureau in Belfast. He was promoted to Chief Correspondendant and reported from
Bosnia,
Rwanda and
Iraq during the first Gulf War. He has also appeared in
Bad Girls where he played a reporter.
